Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PashtoHub ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the PashtoHub Android app and its related services. By using the app you agree to the practices described here.

1. Overview

PashtoHub is a video-discovery application that lets you find, watch, save, and get notified about Pashto-language videos. Videos are played inside the app through YouTube's official embedded player; we do not host or upload the video files themselves.

In short: we only collect what is needed to run the app (optional sign-in, saved lists, watch history, notification delivery) and to keep it free via advertising. We do not collect your contacts, precise location, files, SMS, or accounts from other apps.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

Optional Google Sign-In. If you choose to sign in, we receive the name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account, and a Firebase account is created for you.
Favorites and history. Videos you save to your library and your watch history, to let you return to them across devices after you sign in.
Preferences. Theme, language, notification, and interest selections you make in the app.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Device identifier. A randomly generated, non-personal identifier used to keep guest state and delivery of notification preferences. It is not linked to your real identity unless you sign in.
Push notification tokens. A token issued by Google (FCM) that lets us deliver notifications to your device. You can disable notifications at any time in Settings.
Usage analytics. Anonymous, aggregate information on how the app is used (Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics) so we can improve stability and features. This is not used to identify you.
Advertising identifiers. Google AdMob may use your mobile advertising identifier to serve ads and measure ad performance, as described in Google's Privacy & Terms.

3. What we do NOT collect

Your contacts, phone book, SMS, call log, or messages.
Your precise or approximate device location (GPS).
Your photos, camera, files, or storage beyond app data.
Passwords or other credentials (you sign in via Google, we never see your password).

4. Why we collect it

To let you save videos and keep your watch history across signed-in devices.
To recommend content and tailor your "For You" feed to your categories.
To send push notifications for videos in categories you care about (optional, on/off anytime).
To serve ads that keep the app free and to measure ad performance.
To fix crashes and improve the experience using anonymous analytics.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the third-party service providers that are required to run the app:

Google / Firebase (authentication, push messaging, analytics, crash reporting).
Google AdMob (ad serving).
Cloudflare (our API hosting and content-delivery provider).
YouTube — video playback is powered by YouTube's official embedded player; YouTube's own Privacy Policy and Developer/API Terms apply to that playback.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights and safety of users and others.

6. YouTube & third-party content

PashtoHub embeds videos hosted on YouTube. Video titles, artwork and playback are provided by YouTube and are subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of creator content.

7. Advertising

The app shows advertisements served by Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, and native ad formats). Google may use advertising identifiers, app activity and other signals to tailor ads. You can control personalized ads from your Android device Settings (Ads/Analytics) or Google's Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com).

8. Data safety & children

We limit data to what is needed. The app is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Delete your account, saved items and history (in-app and/or by contacting us).
Correct inaccurate information.
Opt out of analytics and personalized ads (Android settings).
Withdraw consent for notifications at any time from Settings.

10. Data security

We use industry-standard safeguards: encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls on our servers, and we keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and update the Effective date at the top. Material changes will be made prominent (e.g. in the app).
